The Semiannual Report to Congress summarizes the results of OIG oversight, provides statistical information, and lists all reports issued October 1, 2012 – March 31, 2013. During this reporting period, OIG audits, investigations, inspections, evaluations, and other reviews identified over $1.65 billion in monetary benefits for a return of $33 for every dollar invested in OIG oversight. OIG issued 164 reports on VA programs and operations and OIG investigations led to 252 arrests and 205 administrative sanctions and corrective actions.
