Healthcare Inspection Quality of Care Issues, VA Gulf Coast Health Care System, Biloxi, Mississippi

The purpose of this inspection was to review allegations of patient mistreatment, lack of communication, and denial of family rights at the VA Gulf Coast Health Care System. We did not substantiate the allegations; however, we did find that the medical record documentation was inconsistent and contradictory, and that staff did not provide the family with an adequate explanation of the patient’s bruises.
