Healthcare Inspection – Alleged Insufficient Staffing, Employee Health, and Patient Safety Issues, Marion VA Medical Center, Marion, Indiana

In response to an inquiry from House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, the OIG conducted a review of allegations at Marion VA Medical Center, Marion, Illinois. We administratively closed this review on November 2, 2006, because the allegations were not substantiated, and we made no recommendations. In October 2006, we briefed House Veterans’ Affairs Committee staff on our review. In addition to posting this review on our website, OIG has distributed copies of this review to VA and Veterans Health Administration officials, congressional committees, national veterans service organizations, the Government Accountability Office, and the Office of Management and Budget.
