Combined Assessment Program Review of the VA Western New York Healthcare System, Buffalo, New York

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided fraud and integrity awareness training to 200 employees. The review covered six operational activities. We identified Computer Assisted Design/Computer Assisted Manufacturing dentistry and improved access to substance abuse treatment as organizational strengths. We made recommendations for improvement in all six activities: QM. Environment of care. Physician credentialing and privileging. Coordination of care. Medication management. Magnetic resonance imaging safety.
