Summary

Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 375 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following two activities (1) coordination of care and (2) medication management. The facility’s reported accomplishments were the Polytrauma Skills Training Program for returning veterans with traumatic brain injury and an award to install environmental control units and televisions at spinal cord injury patients’ bedsides. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following six activities: (1) colorectal cancer screening, (2) moderate sedation, (3) environment of care, (4) QM, (5) Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Centers, and (6) polytrauma.
