Summary
The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, OIG provided crime awareness briefings to 190 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the following four activities: (1) coordination of care, (2) management of workplace violence, (3) medication management, and (4) physician credentialing and privileging. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the development and implementation of an educational campaign to increase awareness of how the facility promotes a safe environment. OIG made recommendations for improvement in the following four activities: (1) environment of care, (2) QM, (3) enteral nutrition safety, and (4) registered nurse competencies.
