Combined Assessment Program Review of the El Paso VA Health Care System El Paso, Texas

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided crime awareness briefings to 90 employees. The review focused on eight operational activities. The system complied with selected standards in the following activities: (1) physician credentialing and privileging, (2), magnetic resonance imaging safety, and (3) reusable medical equipment. We made recommendations for improvement in the following four activities: QM. Suicide prevention safety plans. Environment of care. Medication management.
