Combined Assessment Program Review of the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital Hines, Illinois

The purpose of the review was to evaluate selected operations, focusing on patient care administration and quality management (QM). During the review, we provided crime awareness briefings to 345 employees. This review focused on eight operational activities. The facility complied with selected standards in the suicide prevention safety plans activity. The facility’s reported accomplishment was the Farmers’ Market. We made recommendations for improvement in the following seven activities: QM. Physician credentialing and privileging. Reusable medical equipment. Coordination of care. Medication management. Environment of care. Magnetic resonance imaging safety.
