Summary
The OIG reviewed the quality of decisions to waive the collection of compensation and pension (C&P) debts and to assess Committee on Waivers and Compromises program policies and operating procedures at individual VA regional offices. We concluded that greater management attention was needed in the areas of guidance and training, VARO program supervision, and VACO oversight in order to improve the quality of waiver decisions.
