The Semiannual Report to Congress summarizes the results of OIG oversight, provides statistical information, and lists all reports issued October 1, 2010 – March 31, 2011. During this reporting period, OIG audits, investigations, inspections, evaluations, and other reviews identified over $3 billion in monetary benefits for a return of $65 for every dollar invested in OIG oversight. OIG issued a total of 140 reports on VA programs and operations and OIG investigations led to 258 arrests and 163 administrative sanctions.
